* Squats are one of the highest calorie burning exercises.

*Arguably the single best exercise to build the thighs and glutes.

* Core contractions that occur during a squat are more beneficial than the traditional crunch.

* 60 percent of human muscle mass is located in the legs, and squats use almost all of those leg muscles in unison.

* Squats trigger the release of fat-burning testosterone and human growth hormone in your body, which is beneficial to both men and women.

* Most athletic injuries involve weak stabalizer muscles, ligaments, and connective tissues, which squats help strengthen.

* The three most common squat mistakes are descending too rapidly, leaning the torso too far forward, and letting the kneeds shift too far forward.
